The child's foot is not simply a miniature version of the adults foot, far from it.  The child's foot is a delicate rapidly changing structure which takes many years to reach adult form.  Sadly many doctors and even surgeons fail to understand the complexity and dynamic structure that is the child's foot.

As part of my MPhil I spent four years conducting postgraduate research in this field and understand that the assessment and management of the paediatric foot requires very specialist training and knowledge. Here are a few facts and common myths.
