Could this patient die having nail surgery
Dean is 16yrs and having nail surgery in your clinic. He has hereditary spherocytosis and a peanut allergy. Part way through your nail operation he has an acute anaphylactic reaction. You administer your epipen and he recovers for 15mins. The ambulance takes 40mins.....................

About the event
We will discuss how we can approach managing a patient with the history of combined spherocytosis and peanut allery in deciding how to proceed with nail surgery. Each of the conditions will be discussed with specific relevance to your maangement plan to avoid an unnecessary critical incident.
